Jarom Olsen

Jarom Olsen received his Associate of Science degree from Weber State University. After graduation, Mr. Olsen worked for the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) for eight years, during which he investigated hundreds of motor vehicle collisions involving passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians. During the last three years with UHP, he was a member of their Major Crash Investigation Team, which handled cases involving fatalities from motor vehicle collisions for criminal prosecution. Mr. Olsen was an instructor for the Utah Highway Patrol, tasked with teaching other police officers various crash investigation and evidence capture skills. Mr. Olsen has experience in computer-aided graphics and video interrogation through multiple programs, including Faro Zone 3D, Faro Scene, Pix4D Mapper, AutoCAD, and Axon Investigate. Mr. Olsen holds a UAS (drone) remote pilot certification through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is a UAS enthusiast. Mr. Olsen is certified to download and analyze crash data from Event Data Recorders (EDRs) in passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Mr. Olsen is an accredited accident reconstructionist through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR); he has also received continuing education in various aspects of crash reconstruction through various institutions. Mr. Olsen has experience testifying in both civil and criminal cases.
